Day 3 in Sarawak will be unfolded here, in this entry. This is continued from Sarawak, The Land Of Hornbills (Part 2)

So, on the third day in Sarawak, we went to Jong Crocodile Farm (JCF) and Anna Rais Hot Spring (ARHS). We first went to Orang Utan sanctuary, but by the time we got there, it was already 11-ish. They were closed for break and only opened again at 2. We didn’t wanna wait there for 3 hours, so we decided to go to JCF instead. Nothing interesting really, just bunch of lazy crocs laying there waiting to be fed. There was this show actually, it’s called Crocodile Jumping Show but it wasn’t that great too.

I went to this TripAdvisor site to actually find the name of the show (coz I already forgot the name), then I found this.

If you look at the date, that’s exactly one day after we visited the farm. She probably went there a day before Christmas too which was on 24th Dec, the same day we did. Because guess what? We did see the same dead peacock too! KakLong, KakNgah, Mila and myself were quite shocked to see it lying on the ground. I remember looking around to tell their workers about it, but no one to be seen. It was so frustrating to see all the thin and unhealthy birds there. They must have been thrown to the crocs once they’re dead. It was not a fun experience to me. I’m not planning to come back there again. I actually hate visiting most of the zoos/animal farms in Malaysia. They simply don’t prioritise the animal welfare and those animals mostly seem terrified and thin. Like the one I visited in Langkawi. The condition of the ostriches there was so sad. Bulu tak terjaga, ada yang bahagian badan ostrich tu xde bulu pun (gugur), and they were so hungry sampai gumpalan surat khabar pun makan. YES, BEFORE MY EYES! Kesian sangat..

The only fun animal farm/zoo that I had a chance to visit was at the Australia Zoo (Steve Irwin Zoo), Gold Coast. The workers were animal lovers, they took pride of what they did and they just simply loved their jobs. The animals there were their main priority and they took care of them very well. Why can’t the zoo management/workers in Malaysia be more like them? Take pride of your jobs and do it well. Janganla jaga haiwan sambil lewa je asal nak untung. The zoo workers in Australia Zoo once made me feel like quitting what I was doing and be a zoo worker too. Yeah, no kidding. They had fun in what they were doing and they had a very good team.

Happier crocs here!

While we are at it, check out this cute video by the Australia Zoo workers.

So, back to JCF, it’s not a must-visit. Don’t go here if you’re an animal lover. You would just feel sad.

After an hour of not-so-fun experience in JCF, we went to Anna Rais Hot Spring. This was a spontaneous plan. It took almost an hour from the city to this place. It was really a nice remote place and I liked it.

Going down down down down..

Going down down down down to find the hot spring.

This is buah koko. When I was little, there were lots of cocoa trees behind my house, and I used to eat the flesh. It was white, sticky, sour-sweet taste. Hubby didn't even know that was buah koko, let alone eat it. Haha

Nama pun hot spring, so that’s all you can find here. You can have a picnic here and swim in the cold river, and when you have enough of the cold, you can suit yourself in the hot spring. As I said earlier, this was a spontaneous plan so we didn’t bring any extra clothes. My favourite moment here was when we all did the rock-skipping. I’ve never been good at it, but I was so proud that I managed to do 5 skips! Hubby did 7, Yas did 9 skips kot kalau x silap. Haha mine was just 5 tapi okay la tu. :-p

Before we went back to the city, some of the Sarawakians at the entrance offered us some durian hutan. It tasted slightly different from other durians out there.

Look at the colour. So orangey and creamier than durian biasa..

We just managed to go to these two places, then we went back to the city. The kids were tired, I was tired myself. We hadn’t had lunch properly, so we thought of going back to the apartment, refreshed ourselves then headed to City One Mall for a pre-dinner, before makan besar at Top Spot Food (TSF) yoo-hoo! Remember, it was dark here sooner than it was in Peninsular. We went out at 6.00 and it was starting to get dark.

We planned of celebrating our Decemeber babies too (Ean, Aneeq and Danish) at the TSF so we bought a BR ice-cream cake, had a pre-dinner and off we went!

It was sooooo crowded at TSF! If you park your car at the basement car park, go to the lift and go straight away to Level 6. That’s where the TSF is. But during the holiday seasons, the lift is always full. If you have patience, then you can wait. If you don’t, just like me, then use the stairs. It is so much quicker. I kid you not.

After we recovered from our food attack and giving up our seats to some other families (memang sentiasa crowded kat sini), we then went to the Kuching Waterfront, to check out the city at night, as well as to take pictures with the famous Kuching landmark, the Cat Statues.

Exhausted already, we went back to the apartment and called it a night. Got some packing to do since it was almost the end of our holiday!

Will be continued in Sarawak, The Land Of Hornbills (Part 4), the last part of this vacation. 🙂

I’m home alone at this moment. Hubby’s gone to the new house to monitor the whole process of installing the TV cabinet at our hall. I was planning to go with him, but then I changed my mind because something interesting was on TV haha.  We’re still not moving in yet. There’s still dust everywhere, curtains and blinds are not done yet, lil things here and there need to be fixed and added. I think, we can only move in by late February or early March. As much as I can’t wait, I’m also super lazy to do the before and after things, ‘PACKING AND UNPACKING’. I wish I can hire people to do it for me. 😦

Anyway, here’s a picture compilation of our master bedroom that is now 90% complete. The only things left are the wallpaper and the blinds. Can’t wait to see the whole look! 🙂

Owh, there’s a picture of the hall too. 😛

Thank you Abang Cabinet. Love your work!

Thank you Abang Cabinet. Love your work! As you can see, white and dark brown are the theme colours of our new home. Clean and neat.

I’m so relieved that he made us this big wardrobe! Well, big enough to me. Wardrobe lama kat rumah ni mcm nk meletup sbb padat sgt kena sumbat dengan TPL dresses yang boleh tahan banyak jugak la. 3/4 of the space is for me, 1/4 is for hubby. Haha

Speaking about dresses, I haven’t done that kind of shopping for a long time now. 2 months or more, I think. Surprised? Yeah, me too. Hahah. The collection now gets too boring for me, same old plain coloured dresses, just a change of names. I need to lay it off for a while until it comes back to me again.

I’m now attracted to something else. If you know me well, you would know that I’m a sucker for phone casings. YES! Hahaha simply because I get bored easily using the same casing over and over again.  Orang cakap, ’emy ni pantang nampak kedai casings, mesti nak masuk”.

It’s true.

Hahahaha

This is taken last year in October. It gets bigger by now haha

So it turns out, I’m a sucker for every type of casing, not just a phone casing! Right now, I’m always tempted to buy casings for my Macky. Same reason, same excuse, ‘Get bored easily’ hahah. Boleh terima x excuse tu?

The other day, I went to ebay to search for other things actually, but ended up buying one more ‘dress’ for my Macky. Of course la kat ebay lagi murah kan (not sure about the quality since I haven’t received it yet).

Torn apart between these two, but I finally settled for Purple. I put the Aqua under the watch-list tho because I actually really really like both colours. So there, I’m still buying dresses, but instead of for me, I buy them for Macky. Hahah. Orang belum ada anak, mcm ni la. One day, when I have a daughter, maybe I’ll shop less for me and more for her. Or maybe not. Maybe I’ll just buy stuff for both of us. Kehkeh

My perut is so berkeroncong right now. I took a long nap today so I dunno what time will I be sleeping tonight. The good thing is, tomorrow is Friday and it’s already weekend for us here in Johor. Weird weekend, remember? Still adapting to it.

Sabtu sekolah ganti pulak. Ahad we go back to school as usual. There goes my lazy Sunday. The good thing is, no more Monday Blues. Haha

Wait ’til you’re announced
We’ve not yet lost all our graces
The hounds will stay in chains
Look upon your greatness
That you’ll send the call out
(Send the call out [15x])

Call all the ladies out
They’re in their finery
A hundred jewels on throats
A hundred jewels between teeth
Now bring my boys in
Their skin in craters like the moon
The moon we love like a brother, while he glows through the room

Dancin’ around the lies we tell
Dancin’ around big eyes as well
Even the comatose they don’t dance and tell

[Chorus]
We live in cities you’ll never see on screen
Not very pretty, but we sure know how to run things
Living in ruins of the palace within my dreams
And you know, we’re on each other’s team

I’m kind of over getting told to throw my hands up in the air, so there
So all the cups got broke shards beneath our feet but it wasn’t my fault
And everyone’s competing for a love they won’t receive
‘Cause what this palace wants is release

[Chorus]
We live in cities you’ll never see on screen
Not very pretty, but we sure know how to run things
Living in ruins of the palace within my dreams
And you know, we’re on each other’s team

I’m kind of over getting told to throw my hands up in the air
So there
I’m kinda older than I was when I revelled without a care
So there

[Chorus]
We live in cities you’ll never see on screen
Not very pretty, but we sure know how to run things
Living in ruins of the palace within my dreams
And you know, we’re on each other’s team
We’re on each other’s team
And you know, we’re on each other’s team
We’re on each other’s team
And you know, and you know, and you know

I’m a fan of Lorde. Her voice, her song. Can’t get this song out of my head, so I just set it as my ringtone.

Enjoy!
