Balaci And Balocker

When I was in high school, I stayed in hostel for 5 years. It was really fun surviving our teenage years with friends. By doing everything on our own, we became so independent (or so I thought haha). So, bila dah duduk asrama, jumpalah banyak sangat ragam budak2 aspuri ni. Banyak ragam ni bagus. It makes our hostel life interesting, right? Haha. Ada budak yang nerd, budak yang alim or kaki surau, budak yang garang, budak yang gila2, budak yang ngada2, budak yang gedik etc. Tapi yang paling penting, and I think kumpulan ni memang wujud kat mana2 asrama sekalipun, BUDAK YANG SUKA MENGADU.

Actually, we had too many nicknames for these people, but these two are what I remember the most.

 BALACI (laci as in ‘drawer’)

Senang cerita, sama mcm kepochi la. Kepoh. Semua nak ngadu. Nampak budak tak turun prep, sibuk mengadu kat exco or kat warden.

BALOCKER (as in locker la, or almari)

I heard this term from my seniors when I was in Form 1. Senang cerita, buat fitnah. So effect balocker dah tentunya lebih teruk dari balaci. Malas nak tulis. Bayangkan jela sendiri. Kalau nak lagi ngeri, bayangkan kes balocker tu kes aspura (asrama putera/budak lelaki). Ala2 KL Gangster la kot. Haha

Bila duduk asrama, fenomena puak2 balaci and balocker ni biasa. Memang wujud punyalah, mana-mana asrama pun. Term je yg berbeza. Yelah, budak-budak lagi kan. Zaman jahiliah, as we call it. So, bila ingat2 balik, samada ingat jadi balaci/balocker, atau ingt menjadi mangsa balaci/balocker, mesti ketawa sendiri (yang jadi mangsa balaci/balocker tu mesti teringat time ‘basuh’ ramai2 la tu haha). Sebab mcm kelakar teringat perangai dulu-dulu yang tah hape je. Perangai tak matang.

Itu zaman sekolah. Zaman jahiliah. Zaman ‘mcm comeeeel jeww’.

Tapi bila dah masuk alam pekerjaan, dah jadi adult, jumpa lagi balaci/balocker mcm zaman sekolah dulu, taktau apa nak cakap. Takkan nak ‘basuh’ jugak kot? Some of them dah tahap ‘makcik-pakcik’ pun. Masa zaman sekolah, mungkin tak tercapai dek akal kita bahawa perangai2 balaci/balocker ni akan memecah-belahkan orang, sebab mcm dah disebut kat paragraph atas tadi la, perangai tak matang. Tapi kalau dah adult, takkan tak tercapai lagi?

So sebenarnya, nak highlight paragraph yang last tu.

Pahe dok?

Count On Me

Count On Me by Bruno Mars

If you ever find yourself stuck in the middle of the sea
I’ll sail the world to find you
If you ever find yourself lost in the dark and you can’t see
I’ll be the light to guide you

Find out what we’re made of
What we are called to help our friends in need

You can count on me like one, two, three
I’ll be there and I know when I need it
I can count on you like four, three, two
And you’ll be there ’cause that’s what friends
Are supposed to do, oh yeah, ooh, ooh

If you toss and you turn and you just can’t fall asleep
I’ll sing a song beside you
And if you ever forget how much you really mean to me
Everyday I will remind you

Find out what we’re made of
What we are called to help our friends in need

You can count on me like one, two, three
I’ll be there and I know when I need it
I can count on you like four, three, two
And you’ll be there ’cause that’s what friends
Are supposed to do, oh yeah, ooh, ooh, yeah, yeah

You’ll always have my shoulder when you cry
I’ll never let go, never say goodbye

You can count on me like one, two, three
I’ll be there and I know when I need it
I can count on you like four, three, two
And you’ll be there ’cause that’s what friends
Are supposed to do, oh yeah, ooh, ooh

You can count on me ’cause I can count on you

I heard it on the radio several times, especially when I was on the road, driving, but I was too stupid to notice that this is Bruno Mars singing. Haha. No wonder the song is very nice! The lyrics are so sweet, aren’t they?

The song is about friendship, or relationship with people that we love. It’s about being there for one another, about trusting each other. I like the ‘one, two, three’, and ‘four, three, two’ part. They are catchy but at the same time, not overdo the song. If you get what I mean. Haha

Enjoy the song. I know I do.

p/s : I’m imagining myself plucking some chords on a guitar, singing this song on a stage, dedicating it to my best friends. COOLNESS.
If only, I could play a guitar. *sigh*

When My Thoughts Are Not In Alphabetical Order

Hi people! Okay, this is gonna be random. I am just gonna write whatever that cross my mind. Am gonna start with……….

First, I already got ‘Surat Pengesahan Lantikan DG41’!! GB called me to the office this morning, and I already knew, this must be about the confirmation thingy. So, as soon as he said, ‘Tahniah”, I felt like jumping for joy in front of him. Yela, I’ve been calling the SPP for the million times asking about my confirmation status, and they kept saying, still in process, bla bla bla.. Now, thank God the wait is over! I can’t wait for the tunggakan! Hihi..

Surat Pengesahan Lantikan DG41 that I just got this morning!

As I got home, I noticed a pile of forms on my bed. Hal2 berkaitan kebenaran bernikah, borang2 wali, saksi dh setel and diluluskan! Tgl tgu je 11th March 2011… :-)

The form that needs to be filled in during the akad nikah..

After performing Zuhur, I went to KakMaz boutique with mom to discuss about the wedding preparation. I reconfirmed about the budget, the themes and there are changes here and there and yaaaahuuu I got good discount! Hehe.. Thanks KakMaz. So, that one was setteled, but there are still few things. I forgot to buy the curtains for my wedding. I promised mom that I’ll belanja her the new curtains for the kenduri, but until now, I still haven’t kept my promise. I haven’t bought her the thing yet! Eish, bila laaa.. Tah sempat ke mak nk jahit…

Tomorrow, dh start Chinese New Year break! Yeaaay!! Well, I know that some of you my friends have already enjoyed your break since last Monday (including you, Mr.Gonzales),  but whatever. I am just feel too happy now that I get to wake up late tomorrow! Hihi..

Owh, anyways, my good friend dunia akhirat, Siti Soraya Lin will be getting married tomorrow! Eh, no no. She will be getting married tonight actually (by this time, dh nikah kot) and tomorrow is the wedding reception.

Who’s Lynn? Okay, I’ll tell you guys about her.

I’ve known Lynn since we were in IPBA. I was one of the ‘second-intake students’ who came two weeks later, so I didn’t really know anyone on my first day. I just stood outside my class, refusing to get in, coz I was… shy, and nervous at that time. Then, someone came. Someone who was wearing pink baju kurung and carrying a backpack. She greeted me (saying ‘budak baru ye.. saya Lynn’), shook my hand and welcomed me to that place. She was the very first ‘first-intake student’ that acknowledged my existence.

She is the most kind-hearted person that I’ve ever known. She is just so patient, religious, not forgotten, FUNNY in her own way (trust me, she IS FUNNY)!! She’s also a good cook. I still remember when we were in Australia, she always cooked for me. During lunch or dinner time, she would call me and asked me to come to her room and had lunch/dinner together. Sometimes, she didn’t even have to call me. Whenever I was hungry, I just knocked on her door, and buat muka sposen, asking for food. Hahahahah. And she always had something to feed me. Always!! :-) She never complained, she was just too nice. She’d never wanted to gossip about other people, God knows how many times I tried to invite her in. Evil me. Hahaha. There was one time, I came to her room, feeling very angry (and also hungry, haha) about someone. So, while eating, I kept telling her how bad that person was, bla bla bla, and then she said, ‘Mie.. (that’s what she calls me), jangan la benci sgt dier.. ‘ Every time she said something like that to discourage me, to stop me from committing more sins, I would protest by revealing more bad things about that person. Sometimes she laughed noticing how furious I was. Maybe the way I was mad, the words I used when I was mad, was funny to her, I dont know. When she laughed, sometimes I would merajuk coz she made fun of me. Haha

Usually, I couldn’t (or wouldn’t??) get too close with this kind of people, I mean, those religious ones, but with her, it is different. I feel very much comfortable being around her. Even though, both of us are soooo different, but I still can be myself, the childish, rebellious, bad-tempered, stubborn me in front of her. The best part is, she gets me. :-)

Here’s my shout out to you my angel!

Congrats Lynn!! I’m incredibly excited for you. You are going to be a wife!!!  I wish you happiness with your beloved hubby. Tomorrow, I’ll be seeing you for the first time after our convocation last year. Can’t wait! Love you, miss you Lynn! :-)

Lynn and I at Bribie Island, Australia, 2007.. :-)

Also, akan berjumpa juga dengan my ex-Victorians yg SUPER HOT, Ponnie and Eqa!! Haha, they are shopping for Lynn’s wedding gift right now. Last minute shopping!

Hoping to see some other familiar faces. Who else are gonna be there??

It Was A Fun Day! :-)

[No background music since my Fifi is 'mute' right now. Haiya... Kena antar service.. Deng btol la!]

Hm… I’m now blogging while eating bread with peanut butter and jelly (while lying on my belly.. so pemalas!). Just wanna update what I’ve been doing these past two days. Yesterday, I attended one of my friend’s wedding, Umie Nadiya. She was gorgeous that day! She was actually my dorm-mate and my bed-mate when I was Form 5. Why did I say bed-mate? This is because every night, when everyone was getting ready to sleep, I would go to her bed, and slept with her on the same bed. Ye la.. Katil single yg kecik tu. Nasib baik kitorg kurus2, so muat la… Hehe. Why did I refuse to sleep on my own bed? Frankly speaking, I was (am) afraid of the ghost and stuff that related to that. Seriously, I dont really mind bad people, thieves, robbers, pick-pockets, but I am really afraid of the ghosts. At that time, my bed was near to the window. When I looked at my left, I would see kebun2 la, pokok sawit and all.. At night, it was kinda creepy and scary. Plus, some of the windows tak bleh tutup lak tu. Huhu. Every time I slept on my own bed, always rase x sedap hati and mmpi yg bukan2. So, I was scared and decided to sleep with Umi, in a kelambu. That continued until the end of the year. Hehe. Tu pon dh tido berdua, pernah jugak aku kena kacau ngn bnde2 ni. Tapi x takut sgt sbb Umie ade kat sebelah. Hihi. Since high school, we haven’t been in touch for quite some time even though she lives in the same district with me. Hm…

Well, congrats Umie on your wedding! Semoga bahagia hingga ke anak cucu. Cheers! :-)

Haha. Nways, besides meeting Umie, I also met my other high school friends, like Azma, Ain, Raihan, Shakirin, Nisa and etc etc. Haha. I even forgot one of my friend’s name, how cruel! And know what, most of them said the same thing about me, ‘EMY DAH KURUS!!!’ I was like, ‘sejak bile pulak aku gemok ni…?’ Hahahaha. Tapi layan je la…

Yesterday, was also a reunion day with my high school girlfriends, Wana, Aina, Rina, Doyot, Capira, Mas and Cikin. After the kenduri, we hung out at Parsley Cafe. We reminded each others bout the things that we did in high school, all stupid and crazy things, the fight with seniors, with wardens, all those ‘gatal2 case’ with boys, and etc etc. And they reminded me about one big lie that I made when I was in Form 1. I lied to the whole hostel. Haha. The story was, I slipped and fell down the stairs when I was rushing to the ‘prep’ (I believe I actually stepped on my own kain and fell). There was a big crowd and I couldn’t dare to lift my head up after I fell. I was afraid they were gonna laugh at me coz that was one very embarrassing fall. So, I pretended that I actually fainted (HAHAHHAHAHA). Every one was panic and memang kecoh btol satu asrama. The excos brought me to the senior dorm, massaged, gave me water and fanned me until I slept… Haha! Best btol tido bile org kipaskan. I kept that secret for years, and accidentally told my friends when I was Form 4. They shouted in disbelief. Time tu baru terbongkar yang sebenarnyer aku pura2 pengsan sbb malu yg teramat akibat jatuh tangge. That’s why la until now bnde tu still jadi bahan. Hahaha! :-D

Nways, these are the pictures taken during the outing.

Arrived at the wedding scene.. Haha

Congrats Umi! :-)

Turn Back For A Sec

I can’t sleep. So, I surfed the net and suddenly I felt like reading back my old blog (friendster blog). Most of the entries in that blog are about my life in Aussie and all things that had happened there (February 2007 until July 2008) before I started this WordPress blog in August 2008. And reading back all those entries, I smiled myself. I remembered exactly what I did everyday, my classes, my vacations, both sweet and bad experiences.. and also.. my friendship with Mr.Gonzales.

When I read those entries, I noticed that I have mentioned his names several times in my nonsense writing. Hahaha.
We were really best friends, then.

CLICK FOR LARGER IMAGE. Those were the things that I wanted to do, but I couldn't. This entry was written when I was really bored in unilodge. Haha.

We both really liked to talk about football, sometimes over the phone, through YM, or even time lepak2 kat Abra Kebab tgh2 malam. Hahaha. But really, all we talked about was football. At that time I just knew he played football when he was in primary school and MRSM, so, we shared stories (but I didn’t play football, I just listened to his stories. haha). Funny thing, we also told each other that we wanted our kids to be footballers. And both were like, ‘weih, same la ngn aku! aku pon nk anak aku jdi footballer siot.’

CLICK FOR LARGER IMAGE. Suke pikir mcm2.. Haha. Dulu la.. Haha. And I told Mr.Gonzales about this, so that was what his respond.

Okay, this entry was actually dedicated to Ponnie. Coz she used to be mad at me coz I always always asked her questions, bout every single thing, every time, every day. Sampai dia literally pening kepala nk jawab. Haha. Some of the questions, were soo out of questions.

CLICK FOR LARGER IMAGE. He was my hero, even though he wasn't there. Haha.

This incident happened when I was watching football game with Ponnie at some cafe ke ape tah.. We were out that night. The game was between Liverpool and.. I cant remember which club. And we were disturbed by these two ongputih. So, that was how I escaped myself from that drunken shit man. And it worked. Haha

Few years ago, he was my best friend.
And now, Ewan (Mr.Gonzaless) IS still my best friend.
And it gets better!
Coz now I’m in love with him!

Hong Kong!!!!! -Part 2

This is the second part of the Hong Kong trip that I went with my friends (Salina, Eqa and Nurul). The second day of this trip was quite special because we had special company, our beloved lecturer when we were in QUT Brisbane, Erika Hepple. Based on the original plan, we couldn’t meet Erika because she was supposed to go back to Brisbane on 3rd Dec, but then she changed the date to that evening so she would be able to meet us. That was very sweet!!

To begin the trip that morning, we went to the airport first to let Erika checked in her luggage because she would be going back to Brisbane that evening. Then, we took a cab to The Peak station. Erika kindly paid for the fare. Hehe. Kalo tak psl dier, takdenyer la kitorg naek cab yg mahal tu.. Hehe

Erika was checkin in her luggage. Hehe

Day 2 : Victoria Peak

To go to the upper station, we took a tram. The experience of riding this tram was like riding a roller-coaster when it slowly went up the hill. I felt like I was waiting for the tram to go upside down and speed like hell like a roller-coaster. Haha. But of course, it didn’t happen that way. :-P

The view from inside the peak tram. This is the condo area where most of the Hong Kong stars live.

From left, Eqa, Nurul, Salina, Erika and I, inside the tram

It took us about maybe 15 minutes to reach the upper station. Victoria Peak / The Peak is the place where you can see the Hong Kong city from the eye of a bird. Chewah! Haha. Visitors actually can buy the ticket to Sky Terrace (The Peak Tower), to watch the the view from the highest point. But since we didn’t buy the tickets, we just went outside The Peak building and had a walk to see the city view.

In the middle of walking, we stopped to take picture. Haha

Unfortunately, on that day the sky wasn’t so clear. If it wasn’t soooooo hazy, we would be able to see the beautiful blue sky, the skyscrapers, the hills and the greenish blue ocean. Erika told us that the haze was actually the smoke of the factories in Mainland China. And she said if the wind blew the other way, the sky would be clear and we could see the beautiful view. So, the gloomy sky wasn’t because of the winter (coz I thought it was!) but pretty much because of the air pollution from China. What a shame!

The haze... :-(

The haze... :-(

Day 2 : Madame Tussauds

Then, we went back inside the building to see Madame Tussauds Museum. It is one of the new attractions built in Hong Kong for the tourists. There are about 8 Madame Tussauds Museums around the world, and I felt so lucky that I got a chance to visit one of these wax museums in Hong Kong. I can’t remember how much we paid for the ticket, but I don’t think it was that expensive. Well, you can always check the price online if you’re interested. :-)

We were greeted by Michelle Yeoh wax in the entrance. It was a bit surprising because she’s Malaysian. But maybe because she’s well-known in Hong Kong as well, so they made her wax to be displayed here. Then, we walked further inside and met Nicole Kidman. She looked soo real and of course, soo tall. I was just about below her shoulder. Well, I’m a girl with short legs, I admit that. Haha. Then, the most exciting part, we met Brangelina too! Angie was beautiful, but Brad was a bit ‘jambu’. But, that’s okay coz meeting them (their waxes) is not something that you can do everyday. Hehe

Brangelina and I!

Nicole Kidman.. She looks real, doesn't she?

Long story short, we met many famous people in there, dead and alive, like Johnny Depp, Pierce Brosnan, Marilyn Monroe, Anthony Hopkins, David Beckham, Ronaldinho, Michael Jackson, Obama and Bush, Shakespeare, Picasso, Einstein, as well as fictional character, Astro Boy!

Johny Depp! Haha

The royal family... :-)

I wanted to buy souvenirs here but of course they were all so expensive. The cheapest souvenir that I found was $60, the mini mug, like sooo ‘mini’ (with that big price). I’d been saving the money for Disneyland, so I didn’t buy anything in Madame Tussauds.

Day 2 : Avenue of Stars (Again)

Well, Erika couldn’t join us for the rest of the day because she had a flight to catch that evening. After saying goodbye to Erika, we went to Avenue of Stars again because last night we didn’t get a chance to take proper pictures. Furthermore, it was still too early to go back to the hostel. Even though it wasn’t night yet, but it was already cold. Maybe sebab tempat tu kat tepi laut, so angin kuat, and that’s why la sejuk sgt petang tu. Hehe

Aaron Kwok hand print : Avenue of Stars, Hong Kong

This time, I didn’t walk much because my legs were reaaallly hurt especially my toes and around ankle. It was because of my shoes. My Mickey shoes. I chose to wear those because they looked funky. You know, it was all about appearance rather than comfort, so I had to pay for it. Huhu :-(

Day 2 : Prince Edward Market

Even though we were already tired, we still managed to go to this market. Actually the name of this market is not Prince Edward market. Prince Edward is the name of the train station where we got off to go to this market. I couldn’t remember the exact name of this market because it’s in Chinese, so I just called it Prince Edward market. Haha. We didn’t plan to go here actually. Erika suggested it to us. She said there were lots of good stuff with cheaper prices. But I think this market is not really for tourists, because they didn’t really sell Hong Kong souvenirs here. It was like night market where they sold food, clothes, handbags, toys etc and most of people who came to this market were the Hong Kong people themselves. So, if you wanna find something that has ‘Hong Kong’ on it as a souvenir, you better go to Ladies Market or Templer Street Market because those markets are really for tourists. But Erika was right. The stuff here in Prince Edward Market were soooo cheap!

At the market..

Prince Edward market was crowded yet still fun. But sadly, I didn’t really enjoy it because I was sooo sakit kaki. I couldn’t even walk properly. So, I went to find some place to sit and just waited for them finished their shopping. Huhu..

Next stop, DISNEYLAND!!!!!!!!!! To be continued in the next entry, HONG KONG!!!!! -Part 3

HONG KONG!!!!! -Part 1

On 2nd December until 6th December 2009, we (Salina, Eqa, Nurul and I) traveled to Hong Kong. This trip was planned in early February this year. We call this trip, ‘After Graduation Trip’. Haha. Why Hong Kong? Because, this is the nearest place that has two biggest attractions in the world, Madame Tussauds and Hong Kong Disneyland. Actually, we almost canceled this trip, due to sooo many problems that occurred along the way. KISSM course, BTN, money… etc. Only when we stopped hoping, the opportunity seemed bright again. KISSM course had been forwarded, BTN had been canceled, and we got the money! We were so excited! YEAH!

So, the journey begins here…

Departure and Arrival.

We arrived at LCCT at 11am. Eqa was already there waiting for us because she took a bus from Malacca straight to LCCT. There was some miscommunication about the place we all should meet. I was confused because when I text eqa, she said she was heading straight to LCCT, but right then I was heading to KL Sentral. So, I thought I already missed this trip. I was nervous and called Nurul and Salina. I was relieved when they told me that they were still in IPBA, waiting for cab. And they were going straight to KL Sentral, then we would go together to LCCT. Hahaha. So, I was right at the first place.

At 11.45am, the three of us arrived in LCCT. We met up with Eqa and had lunch at KFC before checking in. LCCT was really full of flies. Tgh jalan2, nmpk sekumpulan org putih tgh tidur and lalat terbang2 kat keliling diorg. Mcm mayat pulak… To be honest, that was not really the coolest thing I’ve seen. Sian diorg…

Okay, actually our flight was at 4.05pm. So, we got lots of time to kill before boarding. Since I brought Fifi with me, so Nurul and I surfed the net while Salina and Eqa went for a walk kat LCCT tu. Tah hape diorg tgk2 tah..

Nurul and I at LCCT..

Eqa and Salina.. waiting for boarding

It was 4 hours flight from KL to Hong Kong. When we arrived at Hong Kong, we were reaaaallly excited. Chap Lek Kok Airport is the best airport voted by most travelers around the world. But you know, we were not really at the main terminal. Since we traveled with AirAsia, so we arrived at Terminal 2 of the airport (it’s like LCCT in Malaysia). But still, it’s the same airport. Haha.

In HongKong already!

We took a bus and went straight to Mong Kok. It was almost one hour journey because the airport and the hostel, they were at different islands. About the temperature that night, it was more-less like Brisbane. You don’t have to wear big sweater to wrap yourself. As for me, I was just okay with double layered-tshirt that I wore that night. Even though it was winter, but it wasn’t that cold. Probably because it was still in early December.

To Mong Kok island! To Dragon Hostel!

We stayed in Dragon Hostel in Mong Kok. The room wasn’t that big, but okay for four of us. I reaaaallly like the service there. The owner was very nice, friendly and helpful. The room was okay too. Even though it was small, but we still had toilet in our own room. That was good enough. Afterall, we would be barely in that room. Gune ntok mandi and tido jer. Hehe.

Room 715. Hehe

That night, we went to Ladies Market. The main purpose going to this market was to find ourselves towels since we all forgot to bring it. Haha. I bought towel that had $1000 HK design on it. I think it was cool. Actually, it was a bit difficult to communicate with the sellers. You know, they were all Chinese and couldn’t really speak good English. I think they just used English for this business purpose. Their pattern of communicating with us was all the same. For example,

We : How much is this?
The seller : $120 (with Chinese slang, of course)
We : Can you give cheaper? (while doing the signal language)
The seller : $110 (with using calculator, in case we couldn’t understand)
We : Owh.. it’s okay then.. (it WAS still EXPENSIVE!!!)
The seller : Missy missy, how much u pay?? How much u buy??
We : No no.. That’s fine.. (started walking away)
The seller : How much u pay missy?? How much?? (started to follow us)

.Bile dah jalan jauh pon, still dgr suara diorg pgil2 kitorg. And that was how we negotiate price. If we couldn’t understand each other, we just used calculator. But then, they still asked us, ‘How much you pay missy?? How much u buy??’ It was really interesting… yet disturbing.

Ladies Market, one of the markets that you must see in Hong Kong.

Day 1 : Ocean Park

Ocean Park is located in Wong Chuk Hang and and Nam Long Shan in the Southern District of Hong Kong. It is a-must-see theme park when you are in Hong Kong.

Some info about Ocean Park : Wikipedia

Here, you’ll be able to see the whole view of Ocean Park from The Ocean Tower and scary cable cars, go on the craziest roller coasters that face the ocean, see the sea lions and dolphins, and the most important thing, you’ll get to see the giant pandas (they were huge, but cute!!).

It was quite a cold morning. So, I decided to wear this winter coat that I bought in Aussie. It’s been one and a half year since I last used it. Haha. We took a bus from the city to the park. It wasn’t that far, I think it was just 30 minute-journey. We arrived early (9.40am) and the park opened at 10am. So, we took lots of pictures, and even bought pictures taken by the park cameramen. It was fucking expensive, $159 for one set of pictures. But, why did we still bother buying them?? Easy! Because we looked pretty in those pictures. Hua9

Ocean Park, Hong Kong

So, in Ocean Park, we started with giant pandas first. The first time we saw the giant panda, we  couldn’t believe it. I mean, I always thought that thing is not real, extincts or anything like that but it was there before our eyes.  He was ssoooo cute, eating bamboo leaves. He was like a toy, a giant one. Honestly, I’ve never seen a real panda in my life and that was really priceless.

Then, we took a train to go to the other side of the hill. That is where you can find all the craziest rides, awesome HK views and expensive food. Speaking bout the rides, I just tried one ride, and that was even water ride, not the craziest one. I really wanted to tried all the crazy rides, but I was scared. If I had company to go on those rides, I would. Haha.

The Mine Train.. But they should name it, the Mine-By-the-Sea train.. Hm..

Haha. Berani naek ni jer..

We went on The Ocean Tower to see the Hong Kong view from that island. It was reaally beautiful. The hills, the ocean, the whole park.. Everything was really beautiful. I took lots of pictures when I was up there. Hehe

The Park

The Ocean and The Islands

The Hills..

Then, we went to Atoll Reef, and watched sea animals. The reef had three floors and you can see various types of sea animals like fish, turtles, giant stingrays, jellyfish. All the weird ones. Haha.

I dunno what this is...

Like all other theme parks, the food in Ocean Park was really really expensive, especially the drinks. The Fillet O-Fish (item) that I bought there cost me almost $14-15 HK, and the drink, even just a Coke, it costs almost $16-17 per drink. That is insane! That is more expensive than the food. Even if we converted the Coke price to RM, (RM8), it was still expensive. But, what to do.. We were all hungry. Haha.

On the way back to main park, we took a cable car because we’ve already tried the train. I thought this wasn’t so scary like the one in Genting Highland or Langkawi, so I didn’t really mind. But yeah, at the beginning of it, it really wasn’t so scary. I sat facing the ocean, and it was really cool. I had fun enjoying the view. And I also had fun teasing Salina and Eqa, because they were damn scared of the height. Haha. Nurul and I kept laughing at them, provoked them saying we were getting higher and bla bla.. Sal bit her lips and couldn’t open her eyes. That was sooo funny……… until I looked down. Gulp! I didn’t expect we were that high, and that far from the station. Suddenly I could feel my legs shaking. I couldn’t move my body, seriously. It was reaaaalllly high! And I sat facing the ocean! But I was still laughing. I found it funny realizing that ‘now, I’m scared!’. I looked at Nurul, and she was scared too. We kept looking down and said ‘Shit, shit, shit, shit’, until we couldn’t look down anymore. That was soo scary. But we couldn’t stop laughing. Laughing at the fact now the four of us were scared. Sal cried at the top of the hill and all the down to the main park (well, that one was funny too! hahahahah). Thank God the cable car didn’t stop and swing at that time. If not, maybe I would pee in my pants. Seriously.

Eqa was scared. Haha

Salina was scared too! Haha (again)

This was where Nurul and I got scared! No haha!

After that scary experience, we went to see the giant pandas again. There were two pandas this time. And they were still eating bamboo leaves. And still cute, as always. Haha. We were already tired and wanted to go back even though it was still early. Even though we hadn’t seen everything, but we had seen alot. We were really tired and my leg hurt like hell. So, we went back to the hostel, took a nap and planned to take a walk around the city that evening.

I love pandas adventure!

Day 1 : Avenue of Stars and Symphony of Light, Hong Kong

That evening, around 5.30pm, we went out to go to Avenue of Stars.

When we arrived here, it was already dark. Bear in mind, it was winter so they had shorter days than usual. It was hard to take pictures of the hand prints and autograph by the Hong Kong stars, because we didn’t have DSLR. Haha. So, we just walked and tried our best to take pictures of the Victoria Harbour at night. Victoria Harbour is a natural landform harbour situated between Hong Kong island and the Kowloon Peninsula in Hong Kong. It was really beautiful, looking at the colourful lights on the buildings across the sea. I think we were quite lucky because we came during winter, and it was almost Christmas, so most of the light decoration there was Christmas themed.

Colourful lights..

The hand print of Slyvia Chung, one of the famous Hong Kong Stars

We stayed there until late watching the Symphony of Light.

So, now you get the idea of what Symphony of Light is, right? Hehe. There were these wicked lasers coming out of top of the building across the sea. The idea of doing this was great, but I think the whole event was too simple. The main attraction was just those lasers, nothing else. Maybe because I’ve seen this kind of thing better in Aussie during the River festival, so I wasn’t really impressed by symphony of light. But overall, it was okay.

Symphony of Light

That’s all bout day 1. We really had great time, and pretty tired too. I still have lots of stories to tell. And this will be continued in next entry, HONG KONG!!!!! -Part 2.
